Middlebury

A network of microphilanthropy that supports Middlebury students.

In celebration of our 15th Reunion, the Class of 1998 has committed to raising funds for our Senior Class Gift, the Class of 1998 Community Service Project Fund. This fund supports students who wish to engage in long-term or one-time volunteer projects in Vermont, with preference given to projects that directly benefit the immediate Middlebury area, and students who wish to participate in local internships during February break or winter term.

Hope Food Shelf

Our gift will be added to the endowed fund that we established upon our graduation. We are starting with a goal of $10,000, but our hope is to raise as much as possible to support experiential learning opportunities for Middlebury students.

Civic Engagement

Each year, more than 1,500 students work as volunteers with organizations addressing community needs in Middlebury and around the world. Community service enables students to deepen their learning and apply course-related theory and content to solve real problems.

Fulfilling the Promise

There are many resources on campus to help students find opportunities that fit their goals, interests, and passions. But often students are unable to take advantage of such opportunities, either because they cannot afford to work as unpaid interns or volunteers or they do not have the money needed to cover the cost of their self-designed project.

The College has committed to ensuring that each undergraduate has at least one opportunity to acquire practical experience that furthers his or her aspirations and educational objectives. These experiences enable students to develop the skills they need to succeed while also exploring potential career directions, making contacts that will assist them in finding that first job after graduation, and fulfilling their potential as engaged citizens.

Celebrate Your Midd Experience

Your gift to the Class of 1998 Community Service Fund counts as your 15th Reunion gift and toward our class participation goal. Let’s celebrate our own Middlebury experience by helping current students get launched on life after Middlebury!
